JULIEN OTTAVI Soufflerie

Sound work for 9 human blowers

Soufflerie is a sound picture based on breath and breath mechanics an individual is : his body, his lungs, his larynx, throat, nose and all the organs which recycle the oxygen in our atmosphere.

9 blowers, all from the family circle or close, performed a partition for one hour with the principle of the maximum use of the possibilities of their breath through different playing techniques: expire, inspire, sigh, drool, sniff, cough , swallowing, snoring ... all without ever using the word, verb or singing.

The result takes the form of a composition for nine speakers, each is one body breathing, giving its breath to listen to a set of relationships both intimate and sonorous. The listener becomes a breathing reflection of these people playing their own breath of life.
